Right wing Christians ALL hypocites?
Are all right wing Christians as hypocritical as Wendy Wright of "Concerned Women for America"??? In a recent report she challenges Rick Warren (megachurch pastor) to preach the "biblical truth of marriage". Does she mean the truth that Abraham, while MARRIED to Sara pimps her off to Pharaoh as his sister??? And ended up screwing his wife’s maid???
Or the polygamous arrangements of ALL of the biblical patriarchs and kings…who had hundreds of "wives’ and concubines.
Or those god fearing ‘Israelite’ heros who married PAGAN wives and worshiped their gods….try Solomon, or David, or any king of Israel.
Or maybe she was referring to MODERN right wing Christians idea of the ’sanctity’ of marriage…like the divorced Christian president Ronald Reagan, or the Christian speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who served his dying wife with divorce papers IN THE HOSPITAL. Or that devout Christian evangelical Jimmy Swaggart who thought so much of his marriage vows that he used offerings from his gullible followers to hire WHORES. Or Ted Haggard, megachurch hypocrite, who found his marriage vows so binding that he hired MALE WHORES.
Just what is this ‘biblical truth of marriage’ that Christian hypocrites go on and on and on and on about???
Tom baily:
Not only have I read the bible, over and over many times…but have made it the object of more than 40 years of intense study. Along with the history of the bible, of Christianity, of comparitive religon, theology and philosophy. When YOU have done the same, get back to me. LOL
C.
Jesus never gave us ANY church. He was an Orthodox Jews, who lived, preached and DIED an Orthodox Jew, reciting verses from the HEBREW bible.
Your church was given to you by Constantine, after the Mythmaker, Paul and his followers, turned the gentle Jesus of Nazareth, into the eternally vengeful "Christ" whose only original notion was to ‘invent’ a pit of fire to torture ETERNALLY, weak men and women for having committed FINITE ’sins’.
Jimmy:
Your garden of Eden, with one man and one woman, is a MYTH, stolen from the Sumerian and Babylonian religions that preceeded Judaism. What part of THAT do YOU not understand???
J.J. Bear:
Where did you ever come up with the ridiculous notion that sin cannot be passed from a mother to a child? Do you not believe your bible when it says that ‘every man born of woman is born from with the stain of Adam -SIN???
Why do you suppose the church had to come up with the ridiculous notions of a Virgin Birth, and an Immaculate Conception…it was the only way to get around the notion that Mary had to be ’sinless’ in order NOT to pass the sin of Adam on to her son. One myth used to support another myth. Try reading the web article "Thirteen Reasons Why the Doctrine of Original Sin is FALSE".
Max Marie:
Surely you jest: A god of LOVE who orders the wholesale slaughter of innocent women, children, infants, the unborn fetus, and even harmless dumb animals???? More akin to a totalitarian dictator for whom mass murder is nothing more than a whim which needs to be satisfied. Strange that your ‘holy’ books speaks more of KILLING than it does of Love. Maybe YOU need to reread your, allegedly, "holy" scripture and try to figure out how that litany of atrocities and obscenity could EVER be considered the inspiration of as sane god.
I doubt you could make so sweeping a claim about ALL of them, but the basic mentality is they do seem to replace the concept of Justice with a sycophantic relationship towards a 2000 year old book - and believe themselves serving a "higher power" when doing it.
It is a disturbing attribute many of them share
As far as their opinions on the "sanctity of marriage" goes, Jesus equated re-marriage with adultery in Luke 16:18, so until they start shunning the re-married from their pews (which is about half their congregations) because they are - in the narrow, Christian literal sense - "adulterers", it’s obvious their objections to gay marriage is simply an excuse to attack a minority because they are unable to come to terms with the deep, dark truthful mirror.

Hahaha, you are correct, I have mentioned that myself, just what is the biblical descripition of marriage?
Wasnt it Abraham that had somethign like 600 wives, if that is the case we all need to join the FLDS Church.
It doesnt exist but . . . . . to answer your question . . . . . NO, not all right wing Christians are hypocrites, no more than saying all atheists are not hypocrites.
Broad sweeping generalizations are always bad.
Rango | Apr 22, 2009
Generally speaking all Right Wing Christians are incredible hypocrites.
That’s just how they roll, unfortunately, they aren’t reasoned enough to figure it out, which is why they keep on doing the immoral things they do.
Blessed Cheesemaker (cancelled) | Apr 22, 2009
Obviously, it’s based on their beliefs, on their ideals of what marriage should be.
Not based on the reckless behavior or mistakes or hypocrisy of others.
We really shouldn’t judge entire groups by the actions of their bad apples… that is the same thing as Christians judging all homosexuals by the few who have been child molesters or rapists.
No group would come off looking good if we were to do that. It’s intellectually dishonest.

There are new testament ways of looking at this and old testament ways of looking at this. Read the bible and many of your rants would be answered.
Start with the new testament.

Right wing Christian here.
Yes, we are all hypocrites, in that we try to live the perfect example of Tolerance, Peace and Love that Jesus is.
Unfortunately, we are still human and we still fail from time to time.
That is why Jesus gave us the Catholic Church and the Sacrament of Redemption.
I am not afraid of being a hypocrite, at lest I am aspiring to better my life, to live like Jesus wanted and to amend for my mistakes.
If I claimed to believe nothing, I could hate, generalize, steal, as well as all of the evil things you mentioned and not be a hypocrite.
I will take being called a hypocrite over living my old life any day of the week.
Peace be with you.

Well you ask, bible said God made Adam and Eve one man and one woman.now were these others you talk about mess up was going against what God said, what they did was SIN.God did not make two men or two women.1 man and 1 woman. That is why Jesus came into the world to die for sinners,For all have sin and come short of the glory of God.Now what part of that don’t you understand?
Jimmy | Apr 22, 2009
The reason Christ died on the cross was to pay the price for our sins - a price we can not even begin to pay.
When Adam & Eve sinned in the Garden the whole earth was cursed, along with this first couple. Sin was passed from Adam on to each of his children. Sin is not passed from a woman to her child. This is why Mary could be the mother of Christ, but Joseph could not be. The Holy Spirit begot Christ - I do not know how - but that is what the Bible teaches us.
All these details mean that every person born is a sinner - genetically.
The Patriarchs were not sinless and neither are we.
If you study how the twelve tribes of Israel came about you will find that Jacob sired them by four different women, yet God saw fit to use them for His purpose. He knows we sin, and since we all sin, who would He have used to bring about His purpose if not sinners?
J J Bear | Apr 22, 2009
Everyone is a hypocrite about something and if you say you’re not then you’re a liar as well.
mike3 | Apr 22, 2009
The definition changed over time and the old definition is no longer valid, even though the bible is the inerrant word of God and should be followed literally by the ultra conservative. Just my thought. It is a very interesting concept on how they determine which inerrant part they are to follow.
The Jesus story is a myth.

the people who talk about stuff like bible truth are only referring to the cherry-picked bits they agree with, like many things they’ll ignore anything that conflicts with their ‘views’

Christian bashing. The last acceptable bigotry. If you made a similar comment about gay people or some ethnicity you’d be in a heap of hurt.
You say you’ve read it and studied it but clearly you don’t understand it. These references you make are not **instructions** they are **examples.** Examples of just how far man can fall and how the grace of God can lift us up again.
We all feel unworthy. Many of us wallow in our sins because - really - we’re horrible so why would God love us?
But the bible, the scriptures you comment on here, are examples of his love. Moses was a murderer. Chosen to lead God’s people to a better land. David was an adulterer. Chosen to keep God’s people in line.
Today people are still using "alternative means" to have children because God isn’t giving them any. And today there are still Christians fighting against such behavior.

Where is "If you don't dance you hate your parents" from?
Okay so I know it is from "The Secret Handshake" and I know its a band or something but that is it. I have a shirt that says "If you don’t dance you hate your parents" that I bought because I love dancing and I found it a bit funny but I can’t manage to figure out where it came from or anything. So any information would be nice. I don’t want to running around in a shirt that I have no idea what it is.
It’s just a random saying that TSH made popular because of his shirt.

Casablanca
Gone with the Wind
Romeo & Juliet (1969)
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Lord of the Rings trilogy
Jason & the Argonauts (1963)
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
The Outsiders tie w/ Rebel Without a Cause
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
On another day, I might come up with a slightly different list, but these came to mind as movies I never seem to tire of watching. That can be said of so many other movies: Ladyhawke, Dragonslayer, The Magnificent Seven, Cat Ballou, many musicals, The Haunting (1963), Bonnie and Clyde, some of Val Lewton’s productions, as well as many of Alfred Hitchcock’s creations, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, To Kill a Mockingbird, Star Wars saga (particularly IV), Jaws, Close Encounters…, Sean Connery’s James Bond movies, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, etc.

What book is this (it is a kids book)?
It is a kid’s book about a little girl (not sure what her name is but i think it is april or may). That little girl is trying to find her mother (i think). Anyway so as she goes on her journey she meats these "people" and they ether represent the months or the seasons. One in particular is October (i think his name could be fall) he is dressed in a robin hood like outfit and is standing next to a tree, also he is all covered in leaves. If it helps the front cover depicts a little girl wearing a pink dress and she is on a hill the title shown in the sky above her. Any help with this would be appreciated also some of the above details may not be perfectly correct. It has been ten years since i’ve even seen this book.
