There are a TON of books after Jedi..I will briefly summarize the events immediately following Jedi.
Leia and Han get married and have twins. Luke falls in love and briefly flirts witht he Dark Side. An old Jedi makes a clone of Luke. Anakin comes back and shows himself to Leia. This pisses Luke off to no end. Oh and the girl Luke fell for was under an influence of the Emperor still and was set on killing him. But they needed each other. When Mara Jade killed the clone of Luke, the Emperors spell over her was released and they could be together.
There is also a whole set of books about Wedge Antilles and other pilots
